"Felt like a total bait and switch"
I reached out to customer service twice about an issue with my order and all I got was the automatic reply. I even tried the contact form thinking maybe that would get someone’s attention, but still nothing. It’s been over a week now. It’s frustrating because everything seemed helpful and responsive when I was placing the order, but once there was a problem, it felt like they disappeared. Kind of gives off that bait and switch feeling when they’re available before you buy, then nowhere to be found when you need a simple update.

"I went to Simon & Schuster..."
I went to Simon & Schuster after seeing a promo offer, and I was a little confused by how it played out. The discount looked like it applied at first, but then it changed once I got to checkout, and apparently some of the books I picked didn’t qualify. Maybe I missed the fine print or something, but it was frustrating. The site itself was fine to use, I just wish the promo rules were a lot clearer. Has anyone else run into this?

"Faster shipping than expected"
My book showed up sooner than I thought it would, which was a nice surprise. I’m sure other customers would appreciate the quick shipping too...

"Good books, but getting around the site is a pain"
I do like the book selection, but the site feels way harder to navigate than it should. The menus are kind of cluttered, and the search results don’t always take me where I’m expecting. I spent way too long just trying to find one author page. Maybe it’s set up that way to keep people clicking around longer, but as a regular user it just gets frustrating fast. It could definitely be simpler.

"Book arrived bent up and scuffed"
I’m too mentally drained to deal with this right now, but the book showed up in rough shape. The cover was ripped, the edges were scuffed, and the corners were crushed. I was really disappointed when I opened it.

The packaging was super flimsy, so the corners got bent during shipping. The book is still readable, but i’m not too happy with the condition it arrived in...

"Good first impression with the refund process"
My first impression was really good. I realized I’d ordered the wrong book and had to return it, so I was expecting it to be a bit of a hassle. But the refund came through quickly and everything was easy. Definitely happy with how it went

"Ebooks are harder to find than they should be"
The site is fine overall, but some of the ebooks I was looking for either weren’t available or were way harder to find than they needed to be. It’s not the worst experience, but it does get annoying. Whoever runs this could definitely make the ebook section easier to search and browse

I ordered a book from simonandschuster.com and it did show up, just actually a bit later than I was expecting. The tracking also took a while to update, which was kind of frustrating. It wasn’t a terrible experience or anything, but I do think the delivery could be more reliable...

"Payment options were kinda frustrating"
I tried ordering a book from simonandschuster.com, and the payment process was kinda more annoying than I expected.

I was hoping to use PayPal or some kind of quick checkout option, but it felt limited. My card also got declined once for no obvious reason, even though I use it everywhere else without issues.
I ended up just buying the same book from another site instead. It’s kinda not worth the hassle if checking out is going to be that frustrating.

Overall, the tracking worked well for me. The updates were usually on time, though there were a couple moments where they seemed a little delayed. Nothing too frustrating, just something I noticed.

"Got sorted out, but the wait was noticeable"
My order was showing the wrong shipping info, so I reached out to support. I kept checking for updates and started noticing the same pattern of no reply, check again, still nothing, which made the couple-day wait feel longer than it probably was.

They did eventually get back to me and fixed the issue, and the book showed up in good shape. So overall it worked out, but the process felt a bit uneven rather than totally smooth.

"Pretty smooth checkout"
Ordering was easy. Found the book I wanted really quickly, and the payment went through without any issues. One step loaded a little slow. Not a huge deal, though. Overall, a good experience.

"Search works, but it’s a little clunky lol"
I did end up finding the book I was looking for, but the search results felt a bit messy at first. I had to try a couple different words before it actually showed up the way I expected. Not a huge deal, lol, but it could definitely be a little easier to use.

"Helpful in spots, but I’d be cautious"
I found some useful info on a few pages, but overall it felt uneven. Some of the book descriptions were so thin that I didn’t feel confident making a decision, and I’m not really the type to buy a book without knowing what I’m getting into. For a bigger publisher site, I expected the details to be more consistent and helpful before taking the chance

"I had a frustrating time with the..."
I had a frustrating time with the account settings, especially the password reset. It kept failing on me over and over, like when I tried the reset link from my email, when I copied and pasted the code, when I tried a different browser, and even when I waited a bit and tried again later. I just wanted to update my password, but it turned into one of those annoying little tasks that takes way too long for no good reason.

I mostly used the site to look through the author catalog, and there are definitely a lot of names with some useful info. That said, finding specific people isn’t always as smooth as I’d like. The search works okay, but it can feel a little clunky, and I expected things to respond a bit faster when browsing around. Pages loaded fine overall, so it’s not a bad experience, just one that could be easier and snappier to use.

"Not worth it for a regular book buyer"
As someone who buys books often, I was surprised by how expensive everything felt on simonandschuster.com. I went in thinking the publisher’s own site would have better deals, or at least something competitive, but the prices were higher than what I was seeing elsewhere. The discounts didn’t really make much of a difference once shipping was added, so it just didn’t feel worth buying direct. I ended up closing out and looking somewhere else...
